GRATITUDE: aka Best Attitude Adjuster Ever
I’m restarting my business (see here) and bringing this blog back to life in order to follow my true life’s passions. I know in order to succeed and get healthier, I can’t just depend on a steady diet of green juice and hot yoga (although I will be embracing and writing about both in future posts).
Gratitude, and already appreciating what I have, also has to be a part of my daily regimen.
I have to go to bed soon, so here’s a Gratitude List of 5+:
2. I’m thankful for Scardino’s caesar salad with extra dressing and red onions because it delights my tummy. And for Ruby who takes my order and dispenses it with a smile.
3. I’m so very grateful for my warm, comfortable bed. Each. And. Every. Night.
5. I’m so very grateful for my snoring husband (and future teacher) next to me, who loves his (about to be) snoring wife so much he procured for her a matching mouth guard. This visual, I know, is too sexy to imagine.
Lastly, I’m thankful for Mrs. Hill, my 3rd grade and first teacher in America, who is/was my (and Tupac’s) June 16 birthday twin, and who taught me how to play “This Land Is Your Land” on the autoharp. I’m thankful for Ms. Turner, my 8th grade Spanish AND 9th grade English teacher (yep, and she taught both subjects very well), who beguiled me with fancy vocabulary in two languages. I’m grateful for my high school homeroom and 10th grade History teacher Ms. Tom, who made me draw analytical political cartoons about the Boston Tea Party and the rise of Marcus Garvey.
I am very grateful for all the public school teachers who helped raise me so that I can pursue and enjoy everything on this list and so much more.
